Brian,

Thanks for leaving the comment. I would love to update the article with Yahoo's side of the story. Do you have a link to Yahoo! clarification that you posted above?

Hi,

Here is what Yahoo! India has to say against this whole issue.

Yahoo! India Clarifies press report

Mumbai, India 7th December : Yahoo! India a leading internet portal in India clarifies the report appearing in DNA Money – on December 7th , 2006.

Yahoo! India clearly states the following, based on the DNA report:

DNA : Sify Vs. Yahoo! legal battle over the alleged forgery of Sify ID cards by 6 Yahoo! employees to gain entry to the LFW event in Mumbai last month.

Yahoo! clearly states :
There is no allegation that six Yahoo!India employees tried to gain entry to LFW. This was erroneously quoted in media in November and subsequently clarified by Yahoo! India.

The complaint, by Mr. Mane, a Sify employee, actually alleges that another Sify employee took two freelancers into the LFW event in Mumbai, allegedly claiming that they were Sify employees, to shoot videos.

No employee of Yahoo! India was present at the LFW event, yet George Zacharias and Ajay Nambiar, both ex-Sify employees have been named in the complaint. Further, the misrepresentation of facts, by the media, is sensationalizing the matter unnecessarily.

DNA : Madras High Court granted interim transit bail to two top Yahoo! executives but instructed them to deposit their passports with the court.

Yahoo! clearly states:
It is normal procedure to seek transit bail, in such cases where an FIR has been registered. This has been granted by the Madras High Court.

As a normal condition for transit bail, they have to submit their passports within the time period specified by the court.

This matter is now subjudice.
